CLASS 8 PLACARDS – CORROSIVE SUBSTANCES
Available in durable tagboard or adhesive-backed vinyl:
 Tagboard – designed for use with standard placard holders on trucks and containers
 Adhesive Vinyl – peel-and-stick option for direct application to surfaces
Class 8 placards identify corrosive substances during transport—materials capable of causing severe skin burns
and eye damage, or corroding metals such as steel and aluminum. This includes both strong acids (pH ≤ 2.0) and
strong bases (pH ≥ 12.5).
These placards are required under Transport Canada (TDG) regulations to clearly communicate corrosive hazards
to carriers, first responders, and the public.
Essential for safe, compliant transport of corrosive materials.
