CLASS 5 PLACARDS
Class 5 placards identify Oxidizing Substances and Organic Peroxides, materials that can cause or intensify fires by providing oxygen or reacting dangerously. These square-on-point (diamond) signs must measure at least 250 mm (9.84 inches) on each side for transport vehicles.

Class 5 placards identify oxidizing substances and organic peroxides during transport, divided into two TDG
categories:
5.1 Oxidizers – materials that intensify fire by releasing oxygen
5.2 Organic Peroxides – unstable substances that may cause fire, explosion, or rapid decomposition
These placards are required under Transport Canada (TDG) regulations to clearly communicate enhanced fire and
reactive hazards to carriers, first responders, and the public.
