What is IATA Training?

Dangerous Goods Packaging Inc. and Air Oceans Logistics Inc. provide International Air Transport Association (IATA) Accredited  Dangerous Goods training. This partnership with IATA authorizes us to deliver IATA training courses using our own materials and qualified instructors. This enables your students to upgrade their professional competencies to IATA Dangerous Goods Standards. Initial and recurrent training is available to participants involved with the shipping, handling, and/or transporting of dangerous goods by air.

IATA Training is based on the requirements outlined in International Air Transport Association Dangerous Goods Regulations (2021 62nd Edition IATA DGR) and the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Technical Instructions. Employees who have undergone initial or recurrent training in the past are required by law to undergo recurrent training at least once every two years in accordance with the international regulations.

General Training Objectives:

  • Properly classify and understand the classification requirements of substances and articles according to their proper hazard class.
  • Assign or verify the assignment of substances and articles to an appropriate identification name and associated UN number.
  • Select or verify the correct packaging for the dangerous goods being shipped and understand applicable packing requirements.
